Upcoming Projects:
Adapt a novella set in Coos Bay and Portland into a short film screenplay. It is now in screenplay format. I’m collaborating with a friend. We’re finalizing some story elements. The plot is pretty solid (TBD)—update - (late 2026). I have yet to revisit this story. I’ll work on it in 2025.
Three adventure short stories set in the Coos River Valley of Oregon (TBD); Two of the stories are in revision. I have one more to write. I’ve written them to connect around a central theme. These stories are about a first-generation, western Oregon family, originally, from a Swedish-speaking area from the coast of western Finland. Update - I plan to expand one of my short stories to a novel. I have the story and plot finished. Now, I need to write the dialogue. I am considering expanding the other two short stories to novel length too.
Until It’s Gone: New and Selected Poems. 76 Poems (27 New Poems. The selected poems have been revised slightly). - Currently in Revision for release in late (2024). I am making edits to the final (hopefully) test copy. Update (see below - 2025)
Release some MP3 Audio recordings of new poems from my upcoming collection (2025):
“Until It’s Gone: New and Selected Poems” (likely late 2024). I’ll link some in the Draft & Published Poems section later in the year. Update: New title - Only You Can Say: New and Selected Poems (early 2025). Completed. 92 poems. 47 of the poems are new. I need to finish the book cover. I’ve written poems about death, loss, and new beginnings. I needed to process the sad and strange Covid era and the loss of some family members. I believe it is my best work.
Post remaining poems from Coos River Reverberations and Amble. It will take some work; I may release some over the summer in random batches. Conversely, poems from Idling Intuitions and Mast Years are more poem starters (though I worked hard on them, and they are a solid finished product, they are experimental and unfinished ideas for me), so if someone wants to read those, it’s best to buy those particular books to read those poems. I’m not as excited about them floating around the internet. My favorite ones will be published in my forthcoming collection: Until It’s Gone. Only You Can Say: New and Selected Poems.
