Yard Games

Yard games fly seasonally in flocks

To remind us that time spent

Away from good friends doesn’t count.

Crowns for acuity and agility keep

The human mind and body buoyantly

In motion, tethered together as summer

Games enjoyably connected to fall realities

To better weather the wrought winter-hunger

Of early mornings and the madness

Of seasonally late, arrived, spring nights.
