Thimbleberry

Deciduous shrub—climbing or scrambling, like my dreams—

grows the range of human height to better meet the harvest.

Unarmed and inviting, a plant in local style,

lobed in as much as a thought as leaf shape.

Cordate-based by adaptation,

palmately formed, each leaf a wish grown as a gift to the stars.

Serrated as a promise to always clear a path for the gentle.

Crinked, only to share more with others.
